Jeanette Heredia

Jeanette is an expert in nutrition and food security with over 30 years of experience. She is medical surgeon from the Central University of Ecuador, she holds, among other qualifications, a Masters in Human Nutrition from the San Francisco de Quito University, course of health, food security, poverty and development from the Institute of Social Sciences of Latin American, an International Diploma in Public Health and Nutrition from the University of Chile, Diploma in Quality Management in Health Services from the Particular Technical University of Loja Ecuador, and Course of drugs and primary care FAD, supported by the Government Agreement of Spain. Jeanette has consulted on healthy lifestyle, nutrition, and safe food, focusing on different segments and ages for Kraft Food International, La Favorita, oil companies like Tecpetrol, Mishan, Petrobras, and has written articles for recognized newspapers of Ecuador like El Comercio and Metro Hoy. She has been facilitating workshops in nutritional training for the Ministry of Welfare and Social Inclusion of Ecuador, also on behalf of several schools in Quito, additionally for the Panamerican Health Organization (OPS), Abbott Nutrition, Nestle and for 15 years, she has been the coordinator of Project HEAL, University of Florida, in Ecuador, working on community development in the coast, highlands and jungle regions of Ecuador, in order to empower and promote primary health care, health promotion and food security in populations of Ecuador’s poorest quintile. She has been a professor and researcher at the San Francisco de Quito University, College of Health Sciences, Department of Community Development and coordinator of Integral Health International Brigades. She has been a speaker at various conferences at national and international levels.
